Paul. He is the sole owner and manager of Mr Useful Bathrooms, he does the quoting visit himself, and he is your point of contact for the whole job. Where a stage needs a specialist — tiling, electrics, decorating — he brings in tradesmen he has worked with for years and has chosen himself, but the responsibility for the room stays with him.

No. Mr Useful can supply the appliances, fittings and radiators from the major brands, or install items you have bought yourself — both are normal here. If you are buying your own, it is worth a conversation first: sizes, finishes, quality and the extra parts that make a design work are easy to get wrong from a showroom photograph.

Nothing. Paul comes to the house, looks at the room, discusses your ideas and puts a price together. There is no charge for the visit and no obligation afterwards.

Yes — turning a box room, a landing corner or part of a bedroom into an en-suite or a shower room is standard work. One of the jobs in the portfolio is a Dorridge en-suite where the bathroom was extended into the bedroom next door. It is mostly a question of where the waste can run and what the floor will take, which is the first thing Paul checks on the visit.

Paul will give you a realistic timescale for your particular room at quote stage rather than a number off a website. What he will not do is start your job and then disappear onto somebody else's — the focus is one job at a time, and that is what keeps the end date honest.

Yes — wall and floor tiling is part of a normal bathroom job here, and the portfolio runs from mosaic shower walls to large-format stone-effect floors. Tiling is also available on its own if the rest of the room is already done.

Lighting, extraction, shaver points, heated towel rails and underfloor heating are all part of the planning from the start, and the work that has to be certificated is done by the right qualified trade and signed off. It is easier to plan it in at the design stage than to chase a cable through a finished wall.
